NEW Requirement for Events Collecting Revenue
With the recent change to using Stripe for SloanGroups payments, all events collecting revenue via SloanGroups must indicate the appropriate GL code in the event settings. Here is how:
Scroll down to section 8, labeled "Advanced Settings"
Click on "Cost Center Code"
Change GL code to "Event Ticket Sales"
Student-Organized Travel
Organizing a trip with your student organization gives you the opportunity to test your leadership skills, gain an in-depth look at a particular industry or geography, and build contacts and a community that will help you in the future.
The following process must be followed for any student-organized travel - including treks, retreats, or visits to more than one company (even locally):
Step 2: a brief meeting with Delya Hasanova for domestic travel or Paul Buckley for international travel
Please visit our Trek Planning page for a detailed overview of all the policies and procedures to consider.
Action Required: Anti-Hazing Agreement
Every year, student groups are required to certify to the Institute that they are compliant with Massachusetts law and MIT policy regarding hazing.
If not yet completed, one president or co-president from your group will need to acknowledge the agreement in SloanGroups before club leaders have access to their group in the platform. The agreement will automatically pop-up when trying to enter SloanGroups.
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion would like to invite the student community to learn more about the Belonging Innovation and Impact Grant program (BI2G, or BIIG). The BI2G offers financial support for initiatives that strengthen the goals of MIT’s strategic plan related to belonging. To be eligible, MIT Sloan students and student organizations must:
submit an application detailing their proposed initiative/learning opportunity aimed at enhancing the sense of belonging at MIT Sloan/MIT;
execute and/or create the program, event, or learning experience;
provide a deliverable that shares the key learnings with the MIT Sloan community.
Learn more about the program here. If you have any questions, please contact sloandei@mit.edu.
