Application Deadline: Thursday, October 3 | 6:00 pm Pitch Session: Friday, October 10 | 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Eligible events may be awarded up to $12,000 in funding from the Sloan Student Life Office. Funding will be awarded based on the assessment of the application as well as your pitch given at the Pitch Session.
Please see the Conference Funding page on the Student Life Website for all information about the funding application - including the application form, budget template, and sample assessment rubric.
If you have any questions about the funding application, please reach out to the Student Life team.
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion would like to invite the student community to learn more about the Belonging Innovation and Impact Grant program (BI2G, or BIIG). The BI2G offers financial support for initiatives that strengthen the goals of MIT’s strategic plan related to belonging. To be eligible, MIT Sloan students and student organizations must:
submit an application detailing their proposed initiative/learning opportunity aimed at enhancing the sense of belonging at MIT Sloan/MIT;
execute and/or create the program, event, or learning experience;
provide a deliverable that shares the key learnings with the MIT Sloan community.
Learn more about the program here. If you have any questions, please contact sloandei@mit.edu.
Event Registration
A friendly reminder that all official club events must be posted on SloanGroups. If your event meets any of the following criteria, it will also need to be registered on Atlas:
You are expecting more than 100 attendees at an event.
Any attendees are not members of the MIT community. This includes conferences.
Events are co-sponsored with a non-MIT partner.
Alcohol will be available (regardless of who pays for it).
Minors (anyone under 18) are involved.
When does your event need to be registered?
On-campus events must be registered at least three weeks before the event.
Off-campus events must be registered at least one week before the event.
A note about events where alcohol is available: MIT requires events to be registered on Atlas if they are being held at a venue where alcohol is available (i.e. a local restaurant) even if no one is planning to drink. These types of events should be registered as "cash bar" events. You can reference this handy video to learn how to properly complete the form for cash bar events.See more information on guidelines for events with alcoholhere.

Atlas Event Setup/Cleaning Requests
You may have noticed that classroom reservations at Sloan (if food will be served) and all event spaces at iHQ are requiring that "Event Setup/Cleaning" arrangements are made via Atlas.
Please note that students do not have access to submit this type of request. We in Student Life are more than happy to do so on your behalf.
Kindly email slquestions@mit.edu with the following information at least one week in advace of your event:
Event Name & Brief Description
Building Number & Room Number
Event Date and Start Time
Event End Time
Clean-Up Time
If Needed - quantity of:

Once we have submitted the request, we will forward you a copy.
Requirement for Events Collecting Revenue
With the recent change to using Stripe for SloanGroups payments, all events collecting revenue via SloanGroups must indicate the appropriate GL code in the event settings. Here is how:
Scroll down to section 8, labeled "Advanced Settings"
We are excited to announce the new Club Leader WhatsApp group that is your go-to space for sharing ideas, collaborating on events, and staying connected with fellow club leaders. Whether you have questions, need support, or want to brainstorm new initiatives, this group is here to help!
Student-Organized Travel
Organizing a trip with your student organization gives you the opportunity to test your leadership skills, gain an in-depth look at a particular industry or geography, and build contacts and a community that will help you in the future.
The following process must be followed for any student-organized travel - including treks, retreats, or visits to more than one company (even locally):
Step 2: a brief meeting with Delya Hasanova for domestic travel or Paul Buckley for international travel
Please visit our Trek Planning page for a detailed overview of all the policies and procedures to consider.
