Leadership Transitions: Planning Ahead
The Club Renewal Deadline is March 12, 2025 (Wednesday before Spring SIP & Spring Break). To renew your club, you will need to have elected new co-presidents for 2024-2025. The leadership transition survey will be distributed at the start of the spring semester.
Please note that the required leadership training sessions will be held in April (dates to be announced).
As you prepare to elect new club officers, please keep the following in mind:
Advertise Open Positions to All
Strive for a leadership team that reflects the variety of identities across Sloan.
Student Life created a Leadership Opportunities Board to increase the visibility of opportunities for all Sloan Students. Feel free to post your open leadership positions here.
Run Equitable Elections
Tip: SloanGroups offers a secure way to run elections that allows you to showcase candidates and view your results. Here's how!
Club outgoing and incoming officers are encouraged to meet with the Student Life Office for a transition meeting before Spring SIP. More details on sign-ups will be distributed in January.
Events with Alcohol
A friendly reminder that MIT requires events to be registered on Atlas if they are being held at a venue where alcohol is available (i.e. a local restaurant) even if no one is planning to drink. These types of events should be registered as "cash bar" events. You can reference this handy video to learn how to properly complete the form for cash bar events.See more information on guidelines for events with alcoholhere.
