Updates to Space Requests

We have been working to streamline business processes for student club space reservations.  Please note the following changes and what they mean for you/your club:
  • As of this month, any public space requests in Robin on behalf of your club/org can only be made by a club officer that has a Custom Position of "space reserver" listed in their SloanGroups officer list.  (This has always been the rule, but access to these spaces in Robin are now permissioned as such.)  Staff in other systems at MIT (CAC, Daper, or classroom spaces) will also rely on this data when approving any reservation requests, so please continue to make sure that only your club's designated space reserver makes requests on behalf of the club.
  • If your club needs to update the "space reserver", you are responsible for making the update in your club's officer listing on SloanGroups (please allow time for the change to be synced from SloanGroups to the relevant systems) and for making sure that your new space reserver understands all applicable policies and rules in regards to the space they are requesting.  The "space reserver" should be noted in the custom role field - for those clubs utilizing that field already, please make sure to add it in the "role" field or reach out to Student Life with questions.  Student Life has updated the role fields for currently known/appointed space reservers.

MBA AdMIT Day - Networking Reception with Student Club Leads

MBA Program Office and Admissions invite you help close out MBA AdMIT Day with a bang by participating in our networking reception with student club leads. This is a chance to showcase and share more information about student clubs at MIT Sloan and for you to represent yours!

You are invited to join between 4:00 and 5:00pm on Friday February 7th for hors d'oeuvres and drinks.

Due to space constraints, clubs should send no more than two members.

If your club is interested in participating, please email Hallie and Gisel and join the SloanGroups.

Leadership Transitions

The Club Renewal Deadline is March 12, 2025 (Wednesday before Spring SIP & Spring Break). To renew your club, you will need to have elected new co-presidents for 2025-2026. The leadership transition survey will be distributed at the start of the spring semester.

Please note that the required leadership training sessions will be held in April (dates to be announced).

As you prepare to elect new club officers, please keep the following in mind:
  • Advertise Open Positions to All
    • Strive for a leadership team that reflects the variety of identities across Sloan.
    • Student Life created a Leadership Opportunities Board to increase the visibility of opportunities for all Sloan Students. Feel free to post your open leadership positions here.
  • Run Equitable Elections
    • Tip: SloanGroups offers a secure way to run elections that allows you to showcase candidates and view your resultsHere's how!
  • Find Leadership Transition Checklist, Helpful Tips, and more resources on the Student Life Office website.
Club outgoing and incoming officers are encouraged to meet with the Student Life Office for a transition meeting before Spring SIP. If you are interested in doing so, feel free to book a time with Nicole Willits or Elizabeth Sideri.

Club Leader Trainings - Save these Dates!

All co-presidents, finance leads, and space reservers named in the 2025-2026 club transition survey will be required to attend the following two training sessions. Club funding for fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters provided through the Sloan Senate is contingent upon attendance.

  2. Club Finances & Event Planning Training Session: Monday, April 14, 2025 11:30AM-1PM
