Women’s History Month
March is women’s history month! This month honors and celebrates the historical, cultural, and societal contributions of women throughout history and today. This month, you can celebrate and learn more at Sloan, at MIT, and beyond! Here are just a few ways:

Get ready for the most glamorous nights of the year at Sloan, Spring Gala! Tickets go on sale today. Spring Gala provides an opportunity for Sloanies to celebrate the end of the year with an evening of dinner and dancing at the beautiful Marble House Mansion. The 15th Peter Drucker Challenge Essay Contest aims to engage the young generation in addressing the opportunities and challenges of our time in the light of Peter Drucker’s human-centered management philosophy. As in previous years they invite students, managers and entrepreneurs aged 18-35 around the globe to submit an essay on: The Next Education: How a new generation must be equipped to lead in a crazy world. Submissions open March 10th, and close May 31st.
Do you have a woman colleague or peer who deserves a shout-out for their exceptional contributions as a leader, collaborator, innovator, source of strength, or inspiration? Please nominate them for an SW4W Spotlight Award. Recipients will be featured on their website and Instagram throughout the month, alongside award winners from previous years.
Anyone can submit a nomination in support of a woman in our community (student, staff, faculty) whom they wish to recognize. The nomination form is hosted through SloanGroups. If you need assistance to fill out the form, please contact SW4W mitsloanw4w@mit.edu.
GSC Institute Awards
Every year the GSC gives out four Institute Awards, to be presented at the Institute Awards Convocation. The awards are:
Nomination of students and faculty for these awards offer a unique opportunity to honor these individuals for their invaluable contributions to graduate students and to thank them for their efforts. A complete nomination requires a supporting statement not to exceed one page or 500 words. Although there are no hard and fast guidelines, a strong nomination is likely to include a high-quality statement clearly describing relevant accomplishments, any specific task, and/or incidents reflecting the nominee’s dedication and genuine interest.
