Representing Digital in Pharma: Anders Tveteraas
VP @ Novartis, leading all int'l digital and patient facing activities
 
He leads international patient services at Novartis. In this role, he guides the strategy and implementation of how Novartis interacts directly with patients and any programs aimed at solving pain points along the patient journey. Examples include patient support call centers, companion apps, symptom checkers, and telemedicine solutions. In his prior role, he led Digital Health Solution development for Novartis' commercial Pharma division.
 
Anders joined Novartis from Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group in the US where he led Strategy & Digital for their population health management division. In this capacity, his team managed large remote monitoring programs, digitized care management solutions, and provided patient education. Previously, he led Digital for Boston Children's Hospital and kicked off their journey into telemedicine and online second opinions.
 
Originally trained as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company, Anders holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, an M.Sc. in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from London School of Economics, and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Natively Danish, he now lives in Brookline, MA together with his wife and three children

Prior to joining Philips, she was the Executive Director, HR Business Partner, for Bristol Myers Squibb’s Cell Therapy and Development Operations Organization.  Prior to this, Carolyn was the Vice President of Talent Management for Saint-Gobain in North America. Carolyn started her professional career as an Industrial Engineer at Intel and after 12 years in various technical and management roles within Intel moved to the People Function.

 

Passionate about patients, technology, and people, Carolyn has a broad experience in People Business Partnering, Talent Development, Engineering, and Operations.   

 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Eric Berger is a member of Bain’s Healthcare & Life Sciences and Private Equity practices with more than 10 years of consulting experience.

Anne Quaadgras is the Director of the MIT Sloan Health Systems Initiative and a Senior Lecturer at  MIT Sloan.

Her work focuses on health systems transformation, and the role of information technology in supporting that change.


Prior to her doctoral work, Anne was a management consultant for fifteen years, specializing in improving decision-making and investment processes in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and financial services industries.

She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in chemical engineering from MIT. Anne earned her doctorate in information systems at Boston University, where her dissertation research explored how globally distributed groups of experts recognize and respond to operational problems.
