Community Impact Spotlight

Join our pal, TIM, in shining a spotlight on your amazing fellow Sloanies and celebrating their contributions and the positive impact they've made on the greater MIT Sloan community! Nominate a club leadership team or individual for our monthly Community Impact Spotlight by filling out this short form.

Nominations for this month's spotlight are due on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Club Room Guidelines

Over the past week, plant soil, candy wrappers, and other trash was left on the floor of Club Room. Storing food and drink items attracts rodents, so please clean out the club room by the end of next week. After that, all remaining food and drink items will be thrown away.
Please also keep doorways and floor clear for easy access for everyone.

E52-111 is shared with 80+ student groups. Please be respectful to your fellow club leaders and do your part to keep it clean and welcoming for everyone.

Continued disregard for Club Room Rules will result in lack of access.

Hosting Inclusive Events: After The Event

Practice conscious inclusion and host events that enable all individuals to engage and participate fully. With accessibility in mind, consider the following after your event takes place:

  • Send a post-event survey that asks about inclusion and accessibility at the event;
  • If your event was virtual or recorded, share the event recording with attendees if possible, noting that all publicly posted MIT videos are required to be captioned;
  • Hold an after-action review meeting with your planning team.

Find more resources to help you in planning your event at MIT Sloan DEI Event Planning Checklist and on the MIT Institute Events website.

Get in touch with MIT Disability and Access Services (DAS) to discuss specific accommodation requests from students.
Office Highlight: Sloan Educational Services

MIT Sloan Educational Services (SES) serves students, faculty, and program offices to ensure the successful planning, management and delivery of academic objectives of the school. SES is also the office that manages public space reservations and ad hoc daytime classroom requests at Sloan. This includes the table displays required when selling SWAG in the cafeteria. See specific information on this process here.

Space requests can only be submitted by your club's space reserver. For more information on space reservations and policies, visit the SES website or reach out to edservices.mitsloan@mit.edu
