Trans Day of Remembrance
MIT LBGTQ+ Services is hosting an event for Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), on Monday, November 20th from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at the MIT Chapel W15.
TDoR is an annual observance that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. For people who are not able to attend in-person, the event will also be live streamed. We hope to be in community with one another the day of the vigil. MLK Inspired Art Contest
Access your inner muse: submit a piece of original artwork inspired by the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., and you could win $200 and have your submission displayed in Lobby 10 during the week of February 12, 2024. This year’s theme is: “We must remember that intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character; that is the goal of true education.” Submissions are due by January 21, 2024.
RAK Mini Grant
Are you passionate about spreading kindness and creating meaningful change? If so, this is your chance to turn your ideas into action! The RAK Mini Grants are designed to support individuals and groups who have innovative and inspiring ideas for fostering kindness and connection within the MIT community.
Visit the RAK Mini Grant Information Page to learn more about the application process and eligibility criteria. Submit your creative and impactful idea for a random act of kindness project that benefits the MIT community. The RAK Mini Grant program accepts applications on a rolling basis! They're looking for projects that promote inclusivity, well-being, and a sense of community, and ideas that can be implemented with a budget of up to $250.
Thanksgiving Airport Shuttle
The Parking & Transportation office will once again provide shuttle service to Logan Airport for Thanksgiving break. Shuttles will be available on Monday, November 20, Tuesday, November 21, and Wednesday, November 22, at the scheduled departure times.
Advanced reservations are required. Only one reservation is allowed per person. Please visit the Parking & Transportation website reservations page to reserve a seat at a cost of $15.00. All reservations will be processed via the website, and the shuttle fee will be billed to the student bursar accounts or via employee payroll deductions.
