MIT Mental Health and Counseling Resources
For same day walk-in meetings with a clinician (no appointment needed): Either call 617-253-2916 or walk into E-23, 3rd floor and ask to speak to the on-call clinician. A clinician is available by phone 24/7, on weekends as well. Office hours (if you walk in) are M-Th, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Grief Support Group: This weekly, therapeutic support group is for students who have experienced the death of a loved one. It offers space to talk about loved ones, share experiences of grief, receive grief-specific psychoeducation and therapeutic support in a group format, and benefit from the support of peers who are also grieving. Open to students who have experienced the death of a loved one. The group meets in person, on Tuesdays, 3:30- 4:45 p.m., in MIT Medical, E23-376 and is facilitated by Yvette LeBlanc Gundry, LMHC. Spring Gala tickets go on Sale Monday, April 10th!
Get ready for the most glamorous nights of the year at Sloan! Students will have the option to attend Gala on either Friday, May 12th or Saturday, May 13th. Gala will be held at the Marble House Mansion in Newport, RI. Students can only attend ONE night of gala, not both. There is a limit of 2 tickets per student. Significant others can attend, but tickets can only be purchased by students. Tickets are $125 each and will be sold in two rounds, giving first preference to graduating students before opening up to all students.
Round 1 tickets will go on sale at 11:45am on Mon. April 10thand will be on sale until 12:30pm. Round 1 Tickets will be open to the following groups of students:
EMBA 2023, LGO 2023, MBA 2023, MBAN 2023, MFIN 2023, MSMS 2023, PHD 2023, SF 2023
Round 2 tickets will go on sale immediately following the round 1 sale. Round 2 sales start at 12:45pm on Mon. April 10th. Round 2 Tickets will be open to all students, regardless of graduation year.

Civil Rights Immersion Trip Share-Out

During IAP 2023, 23 students and 1 faculty member from various departments at MIT planned and participated in the Civil Rights Immersion Trip across the Deep South. Come to learn about Civil Rights history and the legacy of the Black Freedom Struggle in the Deep South, hear about their reflections and how they are bringing this experience to MIT, and discuss recommendations and opportunities for current and future collaboration.

2022-2023 MIT Sloan Excellence in Teaching Awards Survey
Sloanies, we invite you to acknowledge the faculty members and teaching assistants who have made a positive difference in your classroom experience by nominating them for an MIT Sloan Excellence in Teaching Award. The nomination requires only a paragraph or two on why you are nominating a particular person (or persons—there is no limit to how many people you can nominate). Winners will be chosen based on both quantity and quality of the nominations. Nominate your favorite teachers and TAs who have made a positive difference in your classroom experience this year in our survey here. The 2022-2023 MIT Sloan Excellence in Teaching Awards Ceremony will be held in person on Thursday, May 11 from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the Samberg Conference Center. Nominations are live through 9am on Wednesday, April 27, 2023.

Graduating in 2023? The Office of External Relations is looking for the next generation of Sloanies to join the alumni volunteer network as Sloan 5 leaders and Class Council members. Sloan 5 brings together recent graduates of the last five classes from across MIT Sloan’s programs to foster sustained connectivity amongst alumni and the School. Sloan 5 leaders organize and host events to provide opportunities to meet other recent MIT Sloan graduates in more than twenty cities worldwide. Class Council members work to organize their classmates in preparation for their 1-year Reunion in 2024. Lunch will be provided. Dean on Call: Students living on campus can dial 100 from campus phones or 617-253-1212 to reach MIT Police, then ask to speak to the dean on call. The dean on call is available Monday through Friday, 5 p.m.–9 a.m., and on Saturdays, Sundays and MIT-observed holidays.
