Community Impact Awards – Nominations Open

Calling all Sloanies! We want to celebrate the contributions of our incredible club & conference leaders here at Sloan, and we need your help! Have you gone to events and programs planned by MIT Sloan student organizations? Witnessed a thought-provoking speaker? Snagged an epic MIT Sloan club swag item? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are asking the student community to submit nominations by April 18th for our first ever SLO Community Impact Awards!  Categories include: 

  1. Most inclusive/welcoming (organization) 
  2. Stop, Collaborate, & Listen: Most collaborative (individual)
  3. Stop, Collaborate, & Listen: Most Collaborative (organization)
  4. Most Creative Event Theme
  5. Best Swag Design
  6. Best Trek (official treks)
  7. Dynamic Duo: Best co-president team (leadership teams, can be 2+ people)
  8. Proud Sloanie: Most School Spirit (individual)
  9. Proud Sloanie: Most School Spirit (organization)
  10. Best guest speaker or speaker series 
Submit your nominations for clubs and club leaders, now through Thursday, April 18th. Nominations will be reviewed and narrowed by the Student Life Office with student voting taking place Monday, April 22- Friday, April 26.

Origin Movie Screening and Discussion

Personal Finance Miniseries: 3 Tax Actions to Consider as a Student

During this student-led session, the MIT Financial Literacy Club will highlight 3 Tax Actions to consider during lower income years as a student. The target audience is individuals who have earned or expect to earn US-based income. Key presentation takeaways will include: Tax-advantaged IRA contributions, converting tax advantaged accounts, and locking in capital gains.

MIT Sloan Student Life Wellness Week Activities

We hope you we're able to join us for chair massages, acupuncture, and sound healing earlier this week! We have partnered with a few clubs to promote wellness all week long:

  • Berries for Breakfast: Grab a cup of berries on your way to class and learn more about the MIT Sloan Fitness & Wellness Industry Club! 2024 MIT Sloan Excellence in Teaching Awards Nominations Live
 
Sloanies, we invite you to acknowledge the faculty members and teaching assistants who have made a positive difference in your classroom experience by nominating them for an MIT Sloan Excellence in Teaching Award. The nomination requires only a paragraph or two on why you are nominating a particular person (or persons—there is no limit to how many people you can nominate). Winners will be chosen based on both quantity and quality of the nominations. Please help us celebrate the faculty members and teaching assistants who form the backbone of Sloan's academic community!
