GFLI@MIT is MIT’s community for Graduate First-Generation/Low-Income Students (GFLI) across all MIT grad programs. For those who were the first in their family to pursue and complete a Bachelor’s degree and/or who grew up as a low-income, graduate school can pose an extra layer of difficulty for many reasons, such as lacking a professional network, not understanding the “language” of academia, battling feelings of imposter syndrome, and having a sense of isolation – to name just a few. It is so important to have a community of those who can support you, and GFLI@MIT wants to do just that!
