Bill Mills, former CEO of Stereotaxis, Inc., will be visiting MIT to host a session for students interested in learning more about Healthcare VC and entrepreneurship.

Bio: After completing his Masters in (Inorganic) Chemistry with Mark Wrighton at MIT in 1979, Bill earned an SM in Management from MIT's Sloan School in 1981. He began his career in venture capital upon graduation, joining Ampersand Ventures as an Associate, and was made a General Partner in 1983 and a Managing General Partner in 1985. He continued in later years in Boston based venture capital with The Venture Capital Fund of New England and Advent International as a General Partner/Partner. In 2013, he assumed the role of CEO and Chairman of Stereotaxis, Inc., the global leader in innovative robotic technologies to enhance the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, retiring in 2017. He currently serves in a non-executive capacity as Chairman of the Board of Managers of Ascension Ventures IV, L.P., a strategic healthcare venture fund with more than $800 million in capital under management focused on the medical device, healthcare information technology, and service sectors, where he has been a member of the Board of Managers since 2003. Throughout his career, he has maintained a personal emphasis on science-based medicine (particularly in chemistry-intensive companies) and medical technology, while having an unusual breadth of experience across technology-driven sectors.
