Boston VC Trek

The MIT Sloan VC Trek is a student-organized visit that brings a select group of MBA students to leading venture capital firms across the Boston and Cambridge ecosystem. The goal of the trek is to give students direct exposure to how investors think about market opportunities, evaluate founders, and support early-stage companies.

Throughout the day, students meet with partners and investment professionals for informal discussions on firm strategy, sector focus, trends in venture, and career pathways in the industry. Each session typically includes a short introduction to the firm, an overview of current areas of interest, and an open Q&A where students engage on investment theses, diligence processes, and lessons learned from portfolio building.

The trek includes students who are focused on innovation, venture capital, and entrepreneurship, many of whom have backgrounds in consulting, engineering, energy, sustainability, and early-stage venture operations. The purpose is to build relationships, learn from practitioners, and deepen understanding of how capital, technology, and founders interact in the broader startup ecosystem.
