WORKSHOP OVERVIEW:
These workshops are designed to support MIT students in planning and executing successful conferences.Whether you're new to organizing or looking to enhance your skills, you'll gain insights into key trends, inclusive planning strategies, and essential fundraising techniques. By participating, you will:
  • Understand what motivates sponsors and how those motivations are evolving.
  • Learn the core principles of inclusive, effective conference planning.
  • Practice concise, compelling communication for fundraising and beyond.
  • Explore ways to build lasting relationships with philanthropists and sponsors.
Come prepared to briefly discuss your upcoming conference or event. We'll use your real-life projects in our hands-on exercises. If you’ve encountered challenges in past events, bring those too—this is a great space to troubleshoot together.

Workshop #3 Topics:
  • Review unique fundraising scenarios
  • Get your relevant questions answered
This session will be taught by Patricia Bonner-DuVal, a community activist and educator with vast expertise in philanthropy and fundraising. Bonner-DuVal is founder of Bonner Enterprises, where she leads a team of professional consultants.
