Welcome (Back) Sea Function!

Did you miss the boat on the deadline to purchase your Welcome (Back) Sea Function tickets? We will have a limited number of tickets available for purchase (cash or check only, $20 per ticket) at the dock. Please email Paul Buckley at pbuckley@mit.edu if you want to reserve tickets (first-come, first-served). Be sure to include the following information:

• How many tickets (1 or 2)
• Which boat (The Odyssey or the Spirit of Boston)
• If you are bringing a guest, who are they (SO, another student, etc.)

 You will need to meet him at the Seaport World Trade Center dock at 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 6 to collect your tickets.

Please note that due to US Coast Guard regulations, you MUST provide positive, government ID (original documents only, no photocopies) showing that you are over 21 in order to board the boat. You will not be able to board the boat without proper ID.

Welcome (and welcome back) Sloan Graduate Students! Join us for our annual Sea Function, a scenic cruise around Boston. Dinner will be provided, and dress is business casual or cocktail attire. Significant others (over 21) are welcome (limit 2 tickets per student). Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday, August 10 at 4:30pm until Friday, September 2nd at 3:00pm. Please print out your ticket (with scannable QR code) and present it (with your government ID) when boarding the boats.

We will have two boats—The Spirit of Boston and The Odyssey—for you to meet and mingle with Sloanies across programs and cohorts. As there are two boats, we recommend the following breakdown for ticket sales:

Please note that due to US Coast Guard regulations, you MUST provide positive, government ID (original documents only, no photocopies) showing that you are over 21 in order to board the boat. Boarding will begin at 6:00pm and the boats depart the docks at 7:00pm. Please allow adequate travel time to arrive at the Seaport World Trade Center docks, as we will not be able to hold the boats for latecomers.

Reminders:
Boarding is at 6:00 pm.  Both boats will board at the same time, and you must board the boat for which you bought a ticket (no refunds/swaps). 
Bring your valid, original government photo ID and your confirmation number receipt to get your boarding passes at the dock beginning at 6:00pm. Without your photo ID, the Coast Guard will not allow you to board the boat.
Dress is Business Casual or Cocktail Attire
Tickets are Non-Refundable and Non-Transferable
Due to safety regulations, children are not allowed on the cruise
All guests must be at least 21 years of age
There is a limit of two tickets per person

Directions:
From Public Transportation:
From South Station, take the MBTA Silver Line Waterfront (one level above the Red Line, one below the food court) to World Trade Center Station.
Take the stairs/escalators/elevators to the second level and exit onto World Trade Center Ave. The Seaport Hotel and docks will be ahead on the right.

From Points West via Storrow Drive (or I-93 South):
Take Storrow Drive East to Leverett Circle and follow signs for Interstate 93 South/Logan Airport.
Heading southbound on Interstate 93 Boston, take Exit 23, Purchase Street and move into the left lane.
At the top of the ramp, take a left turn onto the Evelyn Moakley Bridge/Seaport Boulevard.
Follow Seaport Boulevard for approximately .8 miles.
The Seaport Boulevard entrance to the Seaport Garage will be on the right, after the Seaport Boulevard/B Street intersection.
The Spirit of Boston and the Odyssey will be docked at the Seaport World Trade Center at Commonwealth Pier.

From Points West via I-90:
Follow the Massachusetts Turnpike/Interstate 90 East to Exit 25 – South Boston.
At the top of the ramp, bear left towards Seaport Boulevard.
At the first set of lights, proceed straight onto East Service Road.
At the next set of lights, take a right onto Seaport Boulevard.
The Seaport Boulevard entrance to the Seaport Garage will be on the right, after the Seaport Boulevard/B Street intersection.
The Spirit of Boston is docked at the Seaport World Trade Center at Commonwealth Pier.

Parking Rates
Seaport Hotel Parking Garage offers validated parking and there are additional outdoor parking lots on Northern Avenue and Seaport Boulevard (not validated). Parking rates and availability vary.
