SDM & IDM Mixer - Barbecue

Hello SDM'ers and IDM'ers

IIt's our pleasure to invite you all to our first SDM &IDM Mixer of the year to welcome our fellow classmates of Generation 2019!

Our plan is to have a barbecue for all the SDM community to enjoy the good weather of September before it leaves us and share with our peers, family, and friends. The event will take place at MIT Kresge barbecue pits (right next to the Z-Center) on Saturday, September 22nd from 1200 to 1430. Bring your families and enjoy the Kresge's courtyard with good music, games, food (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) and drinks.

This mixer is different from our normal mixer because we will be running a fundraiser for a charitable institution and therefore we will charge a small entrance fee to each person/family to support The Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimers. Most of us have a family member or know someone who is suffering from Alzheimer's. There is no cure for this disease and it takes a huge mental and financial toll on the whole family caring for a family member with Alzheimer's. All the funds raised will support research to find a cure.

The entrance will be 10 per person and 20 per family with all proceeds going to charity. We will be also running an auction with MIT swag to raise more funds (stay tuned for the items!) and if you RSVP and pay before the event, you'll be eligible for a raffle to win an SDM Northface or Thule backpack.

All donations raised will be on behalf of the SDM & IDM Community and in addition to these funds, Otis Elevator will match money raised by SDM & IDM and donate it to the same cause.
