MIT Sloan Women 4 Women (SW4W)

MISSION: Created by staff at MIT Sloan, SW4W has the mission of fostering an empowering network of support within our community. We deliver initiatives and events that celebrate diversity, reinforce solidarity, honor commonalities, and build connections across our school and MIT. We commend the accomplishments and leadership of women and gender expansive people. We include all members of our community in our programs and initiatives.

Highlights: Women's History Month 2025

1. Spotlight Awards

Members of the Sloan community submitted 18 nominations highlighting the outstanding work and community building done by colleagues and peers.

Nominees have the option to be featured on our site. You can see our 2025 features here, or by clicking the "Spotlight Awards" header at the top of the page.

Thank you to all of our nominators, nominees, and features!

2. Coffee Chats

We paired staff and student volunteers together for 26 chats, offering opportunities for connections across roles, offices, and job functions.

Coffee Chats participants are invited to learn about others' interests and skills, and to share their own.

Thank you to all of our participants!

3. Book Club

For our inaugural Book Club, we invited colleagues to  "Calling In," by Loretta J. Ross, with us.

Prof. Ross is a noteworthy activist, teacher, and public intellectual. Among other topics, she offers trainings and lectures on Reproductive Justice, Human Rights, Violence Against Women, and - the topic of our Book Club - Calling In the Calling Out Culture.

"Calling In practices are so important. It's imperative to ensure that we don't grind each other up and harm each other out of our despair and drama. Calling In is a tool and practice for turning difficult conversations into productive ones. This framework can help address harm while creating space for growth, forgiveness, and understanding."

4. SW4W Community Lunch

We closed out our Women's History Month celebrations with a casual lunch - open to all staff - focused on building connections and fostering a sense of belonging and community.
