2025 MFin Graduation Activities

MFin 2025 Graduation Ceremony

Cambridge Marriott

Ballroom, 2nd Floor

Schedule

9:00 am – doors open; general seating. 
9:00 am – graduates check-in with MFin Staff
10:00 am - 12:00 pm – ceremony

Graduates must arrive no later than 9:15 am.

Tickets

Each graduate is eligible for up to four (4) guest tickets for the MFin Graduation Ceremony. Graduating students do not need a ticket provided they are wearing regalia and participate in the Ceremony. Scroll down to the Pre-Graduation Tasks section for more information.

Program Highlights
  • procession of graduates; regalia is required to participate
  • remarks from deans, faculty, MFin Class speaker
  • awards presentation
  • each graduate is announced on stage and receives their diploma
  • photo of each graduate will be taken by a Grad Images photographer; individual photos will be available for purchase through GI website at a later time
  • Attire: cocktail or business

Nominations for MFin Class Speaker, Awards,
and Musical Performance

MFin Class Speaker

The MFin Graduation Ceremony will include remarks from one MFin Class Speaker. This role will be a wonderful opportunity to share reflections and best wishes to classmates via a 5-minute speech.

Pre-Graduation Tasks

Tickets

MFins can claim up to four guest tickets for the MFin Graduation Ceremony and Reception.

To claim tickets, all 2025 graduates must first complete both the MFin Student Experience Survey and the CDO Employment Survey.

Feb '25 grads - for a link to the Student Experience Survey,  contact Vik Ohstrom ohstrom@mit.edu.

May '25 grads - the survey will be distributed to you in early April.

Remember: only those who complete the MFin and CDO surveys will be able to register for the MFin events.

Regalia & Stoles

Regalia is required to participate in the MFin Graduation Ceremony at Marriott and the OneMIT Commencement ceremony at Killian Court. 

Regalia ordering opens early March; deadline to purchase  is mid-April.   Learn more here.

Stoles will be distributed at the Marriott when you check in for the Ceremony. Be sure to arrive at 9:00 am to receive your stole.

Livestream

The MFin Graduation Ceremony will be available via live web streaming.

  • Food stations, beverages, and live music
  • Each graduate  who participates in the morning MFin Graduation Ceremony is eligible to request up to four Reception GUEST tickets (+ 1 Graduating student ticket).

Parking for the MFin Graduation Events

Marriott

Parking is available at various public garages in the Kendall Square area, including the Marriott garage located next to the hotel. Guests are responsible for paying for their own parking.
