John Chory, a top venture capital lawyer, is a frequent guest lecturer in Professor Schoar's 15.431 Entrepreneurial Finance and Venture Capital course. In this lunch session, Mr. Chory will describe a typical evolution of his interaction with startup companies from his perspective as a lawyer. Space is limited.

John Chory serves as Co-Chair of Latham's Global Emerging Companies Practice. He represents technology and life sciences companies from startup through IPO. Mr. Chory advises companies in early-stage company formation and strategy, venture capital financings, public offerings of securities, mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing, and securities law. While at Harvard, Mr. Chory taught negotiation as a teaching assistant to Roger Fisher, author of "Getting to Yes." Prior to attending law school, he was a US Army intelligence officer. His clients include Actifio, Desktop Metal, Ginkgo Bioworks, Goop, and Wayfair.  



Mr. Chory lectures frequently on legal issues facing emerging companies. He is an Xconomist.
