Globally, there is a gender gap in venture funding across regions, ecosystems, and nations. With increased attention on gender lens investment globally there is also a need for more data and analysis of why the problem persists and what tools or interventions are needed.

On November 29th, the Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship at MIT will convene a small group of students, staff, and faculty to explore current data highlighting the gender gap in venture financing across regions and surface questions and opportunities for further research. Professor Fiona Murray, Faculty Director of the Legatum Center and Dina H. Sherif, Executive Director at the Legatum Center will lead the conversation. Heather Henyon of Mindshift Capital will also present a brief presentation of relevant research and data from global innovation ecosystems.

We invite current MIT students interested in advancing the body of knowledge on this topic to join us for this initial conversation, a starting point with potential for ongoing engagement for interested participants.

Registration is required and seats are limited. Pre-event resources and reading will be provided upon registration.
