HBC Co-President MBA 2021

I would not be where I am without two key pillars: the support of my family and the support of my community. I moved to the US with my parents when I was 7 years old and for most of my life they were able to support and guide me in the ways that benefited me most. However, as I started to transition into college their lived experiences could no longer provide the guidance that I needed as the US college landscape differed greatly from that in Mexico. It was at that point that I started to lean more heavily on my community and was fortunate to have a group of close friends, mentors, and aspirational role models that helped me get on my current trajectory. Getting into MIT Sloan was a dream that I had for five years and was only able to achieve it with help from others. One of the biggest things that worried me throughout the process was the financial burden that I had to take on just to apply to an MBA program. I was fortunate to get into MLT but realized that even with their support I still had to use up a significant amount of my savings to be as prepared as possible. Along the way I realized that there were some extremely useful tools that I only wish I would have known about earlier, namely ApplicantLab and TargetTestPrep. I'm excited to launch the More than Ready Pre-MBA Scholarship with our incredible team because we believe that there is way more incredible Latinx talent than is currently recognized. We truly believe in you and what you might accomplish so we want to support you financially in that journey.
