About the Prize:
Now in its 6th year, the MIT-Rabobank Food and Agtech Innovation Prize, sponsored by Rabobank and supported by MIT J-WAFS and the MIT Food and Agriculture Club, is the premier business plan and pitch competition for North American (i.e. Canada, US, Mexico) university and graduate students developing new products or technologies to improve sustainability in our food system.
The competition will take place in two stages. First round applications are due in January. Finalists teams will then be paired with mentors to further develop their ideas. At the final pitch event in late spring, finalists will present their business plans and compete to win $30,000 in total prize money and invaluable mentorship and networking opportunities to help expand their businesses.
For the first time this year, we are inviting students from the U.S., and Canada and Mexico to apply. We also encourage founders of color, women founders and other minorities to apply. Please share this widely with friends, classmates, professors and other founders who are innovating for a more sustainable food future.
