The Food & Agriculture Club and Operations Club are teaming up to bring you a virtual trek on hydrponic agriculture from one of the leading agtech companies in Boston - Freight Farms!
Here are the exciting discussions we have in store for the trek:

Mission / Freight Farms Overview with Rick Vanzura, CEO:
Rick Vanzura came to Freight Farms after a successful seven years building Wahlburgers from a single unit to a $100 million brand. Prior to Wahlburgers, Rick was Co-COO of Panera Bread Company and a senior executive at companies ranging from start-up to Fortune 500.  Rick is bringing his track record scaling and managing successful businesses to Freight Farms’ institutional growth and business development efforts. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BS from Santa Clara University.

Farm Tour with Bryan Hayes, Client Services Specialist:
Bryan was studying mechanical engineering and playing football at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute when he first heard about Freight Farms in a class. He dreamed of owning his own Freight Farm one day and considered starting his own business after moving to Boston for his first “real” job. Today, he instead helps other farmers operate and troubleshoot their Freight Farms as part of our Client Services team. Outside of work, you can find Bryan at the gym, the skatepark, or at home listening to a good record.

Community / Food Justice & Access with Caroline Katsiroubas, Director of Marketing and Community Relations:
Caroline Katsiroubas is the Director of Marketing and Community Relations at Freight Farms, the global leader in hydroponic vertical container farming technology. With a family history of more than 100 years in the fruit and vegetable distribution business, Caroline was led to a career helping to increase food system sustainability and transparency as one of Freight Farms earliest team members. Today she works to educate and empower individuals and businesses on how they can bring hyper-local food production to their own communities and operations. Prior to joining Freight Farms, Caroline received a BS in Sociology and Environmental Studies from Northeastern University and has experience working with the National Park Service and Environmental Health Fund.
