Doug Rauch will discuss his experience in the food retail industry and the story of the Daily Table stores, a nonprofit grocery chain dedicated to providing fresh, tasty, convenient and nutritious food to communities most in need at prices everyone can afford.

Doug spent 31 years with Trader Joe's, the last 13 years as President, helping them grow from a small chain in Southern California, to a nationally acclaimed retail success story. He was instrumental in developing their unique private label food program, and expanded the company nationally by bringing TJ's to Boston in 1996, where he's lived since. He graduated from Trader Joe's in 2008.
In 2012, Doug founded Daily Table, a nonprofit retail store chain bringing affordable nutrition to the food insecure. They offer both ready-to-eat meals and basic groceries at prices that everyone can afford, hiring from the local community and paying living wages. They currently have five stores in the Boston area, and are actively engaged in expanding.
