Interested in family business? Curious about real estate?

The MIT Sloan Family Business Club will be hosting Ben Levenson (The Copley Group) and David Levine (Whitney Towers) for a lunch conversation with students. They will share their experiences leading prominent, multi-generational, family-owned real estate firms that have helped shape Boston’s commercial and residential landscape.

Together, they will explore what it means to build, grow, and steward large real estate portfolios while also navigating the complexities of multi-generational family ownership.

This will be an interactive, discussion-based event with plenty of time for student questions. From acquisitions and development to governance, succession, and long-term planning, the conversation will explore topics such as:

  • How does a family-owned real estate firm approach risk and investment decisions differently?
  • Should you join your family’s business?
  • How can you modernize a multi-generational company while preserving its legacy?
  • How do values, reputation, and long-term relationships influence development and portfolio strategy?
  • What does it take to balance professional management with family leadership in a competitive market like Boston?

We look forward to seeing you there.
